A little about your favorite Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to be! I’m Jess Ellison. I’ve been an RN for 18 years and have served as a Trauma/Burns/ICU nurse as well as in organ donation and transplantation. After my own health crisis, I was strongly led away from western medicine and into holistic and functional medicine. I am married to my sweetheart, Justin, and we have 2 precious pups. A few hobbies are singing, traveling, hiking/camping, reading, fitness and NUTRITION! I am a lover of all things Fall and Halloween, never miss an opportunity for a nap and live for an afternoon loose leaf tea. You’ll find me in the kitchen slow simmering broth, making soap, cooking a colorful, nutrient dense meal or fermenting something. I adore food and I hope to empower you to love food too! I am here for you! I am here to HEAR you, guide you and empower you on your health journey! Let’s do this…together.

Who do I serve? I work with individuals who are struggling with fatigue, bloating, irregular digestion, or simply feeling “off” despite trying to eat well. While my focus is digestion, the benefits go far beyond the gut—because when digestion improves, so does energy, blood sugar balance, mood, immunity, and overall resilience. My clients are people ready to look beyond quick fixes and discover how food and lifestyle foundations can truly support long-term health.

“Good digestion is more to be desired than great riches.” -F.J. Groner

“A healthy outside starts from the inside.”-Robert Urich

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” -Hippocrates

“The gut is not Las Vegas. What happens in the gut does not stay in the gut.” -Dr Alessio Fasnao

Empower Your Health Journey

-“MY STOMACH HURTS!” How often do we say this?? When we think of digestive dysfunction, we think it looks like the obvious bloating, diarrhea and constipation. However, it can also look like headaches, slowed metabolism and weight resistance, fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin issues, joint pain and more!

Why work with an NTP/Holistic RN? Why work with me?

I combine 20 years of nursing expertise with holistic nutrition training to give you care that’s both clinically grounded and root-cause focused—science and compassion working together for lasting results.

I understand the frustration of not being heard, the exhaustion of “doing everything right,” and still not feeling well. My own story began with years of IBS, fueled by Stage 4 endometriosis. After two bowel resections, countless microbiome altering antibiotics, and a complete rebuild of my gut —I’m living proof that healing is possible. I became patient zero in my own practice, following the same intake process and foundational work I now guide my clients through. This is the best I’ve ever felt—truly—and that’s why I’m here.

Nutritional Therapy Practitioners focus on the roots of health, not just the symptoms. What sets us apart from conventional Western medicine is time, personalization, and prevention. Instead of quick visits and prescriptions, you’ll get space to share your story, a plan tailored to your body’s unique needs, and practical steps that support your long-term energy, digestion, and overall vitality.

What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?

A Nutritional Therapy Practitioner helps people restore balance through whole foods, lifestyle, and foundational health practices—focusing on digestion, blood sugar regulation, stress management, sleep, and nutrient density to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Do you accept insurance?

NTPs do not accept insurance because your health deserves more than quick fixes and rushed appointments. By working outside of insurance, I can give you the time, attention, and personalized strategies you need to truly get to the root of your concerns.

What can I expect while working together?

From me, you can expect a personalized plan tailored to your unique goals and needs. Health is never “one size fits all,” and there’s no box we all fit in. With me, you gain a partner—not a boss—because you are the leading expert on your own body. More than a practitioner, you get a heart connection. You’ll receive my full attention during our sessions, along with the time needed between them to truly see how the recommendations work for you.

True healing takes teamwork. I’ll guide you with personalized recommendations and support, but real progress depends on your commitment and follow-through between our sessions. Change doesn’t happen overnight—your body needs time, consistency, and care. When you do the work, you’ll see the difference.
